Trademark registration in Latvia will grant exclusive right to the use of the registered trademark. Which means that the trademark can be used exclusively by the owner.
Trademark registration in Latvia is carried out by the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia. The process involves filing a trademark application with the Patent Office, which will then be examined to ensure that it meets all the necessary requirements for registration. Once approved, the trademark will be published in the Official Gazette for opposition purposes. If there are no oppositions or they are successfully overcome, the trademark will be registered.
Latvia recognizes various types of trademarks, including word, pictorial, combination and three-dimensional marks. Non-traditional marks such as sound and aroma marks can also be registered.
